I'm not rich but I spend way above my means when it comes to travel so I have some experiences with more luxorious travel. Here are my thoughts.
Things that are 100% worth it:
>business class flights
>above-average resorts and hotels
Things that are NOT worth it:
>first class flights
>super luxury hotels and White Lotus shit
>fine dining
As for the flights, business class in many long-haul airlines has become so good that it is actually retarded to pay for first class in my opinion. You can access the first class lounge with status if you fly enough, and the seats are just not worth it.
I like to stay in a nice hotel that has everything covered, provides top-of-the-notch breakfast, and will do shit for you if you need it. Above this I start to feel diminishing returns, a fancy 1000/night 5-star hotel just doesn't provide enough over a 3-400/night one.
As for dining, I just never understood fine dining. Maybe you have to grow up in that kind of environment to appreciate it. Every single time I had 50x more fun and 50x more enjoyment of the food by just eating at random street food locations or trying out whatever the locals recommend.
