Anyone else just see through fighting games at this point? They are all just time sinks that ultimately betray you in the end. RoA was basically the perfect logical step after learning from decades of nintendo platfighters. The genre had so much to offer, but suffered from a lot of major flaws like throws being too over centralized, shields either being worthless or broken in each game, and the ledge just being utter cancer to deal with. What did Roa do? It cut all three of those things and continued to develop the fun aspect of this genre: the neutral, DI mind games, etc. Now that there's a sequel that ditched all of those ideas, and the original game is turbo dead. Makes me jealous of sports players. You can play tennis for decades and never fear the dreaded Tennis 2 that fucks with all the things you loved about the original tennis.
>inb4 RoA didn't go anywhere
Yeah, but the playerbase fucking did. It's dead. Fighting games are a fucking scam. I wish I could go back in time and tell myself never to get into this genre and pick up a sport instead.
