I never played Monster Party as a kid, so it wasn't until the early 2000s that I discovered it thanks to the online retrogaming scene. Sure it's kinda janky, but the gameplay can still be pretty satisfying, and the way the atmosphere fluctuates between silly parody horror and actually creepy (for an NES game) moments makes for a great atmosphere. Plus the title theme and credits theme are legitimately among my favorite NES tunes.
