LXDE/LXQT or what I do is Debian NetInstall and then sudo apt install lightdm, xorg, openbox, mousepad, lxterminal, pcmanfm, tint2, chromium, firefox-esr, xcompmgr, pavucontrol, pasystray, policykit-1-gnome, .... manually.

You may need some more packages or less and it consumes about 200-300MB of RAM. Not using lightdm you can manually type startx for example.

lightdm = login manager at boot
xorg = x window / graphics but you still need actual GPU graphics drivers but by default the open-source one is used
openbox = window manager (shortcuts, titlebar customizing is what you'll notice mostly)
mousepad = lightweight notepad alternative
lxterminal = lightweight terminal emulator
pcmanfm = lightweight file explorer
tint2 = lightweight taskbar
xcompmgr = "lightweight" effects for windows like transparency and blur
pavucontrol = audio controls
pasystray = tray in taskbar for audio
policykit-.... = makes it so whenever you need sudo in a program it pops up password asking for authentication
