Some other random shit that I see people get wrong:

-God Hand release multiplies the damage of most attacks but does NOT multiply roulette damage. However, heat cards (orange cards with Gene's jacket logo on them) do! If you're not on a KMS run and you find a heat card in a boss that's your cue to fucking delete them with a roulette
-There is no benefit to alternating left/right attacks or punch/kick attacks. Frame data is consistent.
-Left Jab is not the fastest startup in the game, though it is probably the most useful opener. It's active on the sixth frame. Chin Music, Sugar Gene Combo, and Floating Butterfly are all active on the fifth frame. The only reason they aren't obvious picks for the first hit on square is the fact that they're multi-hit.
-You don't need to mash circle when doing a pummel, you can mash any or all of the buttons. Save your wrist a lot of pain and do so.
-Increases in level do not give Gene any mechanical benefits, it's just difficulty/rewards. They also do not change enemy health or resistance values, just behavior.
-Easy and Hard mode do not just lock the level gauge. While easy does max the gauge out at level 2 and hard does lock the gauge at DIE, easy also reduces enemy HP by 20% and hard increases enemy HP by 20%
-Hitting an enemy while they are in an attack animation will not necessarily give you a counterhit, enemy animations have specific counterhit windows
