Not to spoil the story but the way they revealed she was the soul of a dying knight was underwhelming, i can't explain why exactly but the twist felt inappropriate, like they mixed up what was supposed to happen and they were rushing and thus a 9/10 story got deflated to a 6/10. Maybe I am just salty she lost her final boss fight like a complete chump and it was a shaggy dog moment but then shadow hunters were defeated anyways, which made the final fight feel even more redundant. I am not sure how I would do it, but I would have her beat the shadow hunters or atleast go out in a heroic sacrifice and then she gets her afterlife reward. Usually these type of stories at least have a consequence for losing in the "limbo"/coma like going to hell or staying in a coma forever. If her dying would have ended up with her going to the hereafter no matter what then Twig was never really in danger in the afterlife sense.
Though if I were really allowed to change what the story's twist was, it would be that she was the 4th evil sister that absconded cause she turned good, got amnesia, has a empire strikes back moment where they try to get her to join them at the end and then she beats them but does so in a heroic sacrifice way so you can still have that oak tree scene at the end.
