The fact they're even saying this out loud proves everyone knows deep down what's actually going on here. There's a reason they sent a 50 year old ship designated to be decommissioned next year anyway first to the warzone.

If they don't want people preemptively calling out false flags they should try a little more subtlety instead of just bitching about it.

Without U.S. military personnel being attacked Trump knows any further incursions into Iran will be massively unpopular on both sides of the aisle (despite what his "in-house pollsters" say) but if they're attacked first anyone who criticizes him can easily be dismissed as anti-American.
