Maybe I should bring THAT up at my performance review review -- that the only times I truly care about my job and the people under me anymore are when I get so fucked up on spirits that actual emotions can come out.
It's a fucked up situation; I care, it hurts me, but it's caring about a series of "missions" that don't matter, for an organization that doesn't care about us on the ground. What paltry IT skills I have are useful to those around me, btu dissuaded by agencies and concerns higher than the unit. There are ways for us to achieve what we want, even if in shady ways, but is the thing being achieved even something really important?
