Does anyone know anything about Takehara, over by Hiroshima?

I've been in Japan since the beginning of June and my girlfriend (foreign) was bugging me about it.
She says there's good sake there.

Is there anything else though?

I'd really hate to go out of the way from Tokyo just to be bored by some town you only go to for the vibe.
It looks pretty, but I really want to know if it's worth it.
