If I can get a child's toy walkie talkie to transmit a few hundred feet on fm frequencies then I should be able to control mechanoids from anywhere on a map tile - especially considering how small the maps are by default. I understand the design decision behind mechanoid range, to keep you close to enemies and vulnerable, but given that it's an arbitrary bottleneck I've chosen to override it.

Are there any annoying mechanics like this that you've also simply turned off or paved over with a mod? It's time for the mountaincels to confess if they've disabled hives for a bug-free story.
