I think it's just Paulo having a nightmare where he gets his wish and Mike is out and Lucy/James are in. Augustus isn't there because Paulo hates him, and James is out of character because Paulo doesn't know him well enough to realize that James wouldn't give too shits about Lucy, he'd be slutting it up with David.
