I can't be arsed playing solo queue ranked like before that shit blows donkey cock so I'm still E4 or some crap like that because I played promos, lost most and stopped.
The splits and changes made it too annoying, I'll play solo q in summer when I have more time but I'd probably just get like 7 wins for D4 and maybe stop if it gets annoying. When you end up diamond for a couple seasons they basically start gifting it to you and you get like 50 lp per win and 10 per loss until you hit it again.

If you've played dota you should know that you're gonna lose a lot when learning a game like this, you're absorbing insane amounts of information every game and it's gonna take several games for that shit to stick.
I would recommend just playing whatever you find cool or fun, maybe see some streams so you can see more champions being played at a good level in order to see their performance and how they move and work in good hands. Seeing some youtube videos so you can start absorbing key information and terms faster wouldn't be a bad idea.
Unlike most dota Dota heroes this game is VERY micro and matchup intensive, not in the sense of controlling several units but in the sense that one small misstep or key press can immediately ruin everything against better players and there's an insane amount of mobility options and skillshots you have to take into account at every second, if you played and enjoyed invoker you might enjoy some of the more complicated champions.
