depending on army, you sometimes have to do a little hunting and source different units from different places. there's a fuckton out there though.

GW used to have a huge line of warmaster minis in the early 2000s. you can still sometimes find them second hand, in old LGSs or on auction sites. especially if you're looking for one of the original armies like Empire, Chaos Warriors, Orcs or High Elves that got several printings.

there's a surprisingly large amount of companies that make 10mm fantasy. Pendraken, Eureka, Warmonger, Cromarty, Irregular, Kallistra, blackgate, onslaught, copplestone, spellcrow, wargames atlantic, TUTB, to name a few. you can dip in to 15mm fantasy for big boys (ogres, trolls, etc) too, and there are huge ranges of historicals for human factions.
there's also a fuckton of 3d stl sculptors like (formerly) forest dragon, wake, varus, greenskin, onmioji, moonjam, minirat, tordo and ankylo and many print shops and sites will sell their stuff direct. tons of free shit floating around out there too. and the crap's all very easy and cheap to print because it's low height and small size.
you can easily have 3 or 4 different options for most units in the army.
