The main issue isn't the homogeneity of skin color, it's the context within which it's happening. A clan or group entrenched within a given local community often makes sense in VtM, but the Tremere are probably the worst fit for it. They tend to be perfectly utilitarian in their choice of progeny and the need to scoop talent in occultism - a rarefied, very spread out field - means they need to diversify to meet their needs.
Even if there was, say a great familly of occultist in Hartford, there's only need of one vampire to take control of it, then you seek over venues to parasite for expansion.
I mean, I don't have a strong epidermic aversion to it, but without proper context it very much feels off.
