Dude, pal, mate. Calm down and take things easy. ZUN has stated time and time again that the backgrounds are on the bottom scale when it comes to priority, because the good shit is the danmaku, bet you dont know this, but most of the backgrounds are actually fucking STOCK IMAGES, so ZUN didnt even make them, and we are not even talking about level backgrounds that he used AI on, we are talking about SPELL CARD backgrounds, so even LESS priority.
There is no difference between using a stock image or using an AI thats trained of stock images, and if it makes things easier for him, great, the old man cant code for shit, maybe with that time the games will come out better.
Seriously, I dont get all this panic where all the important things are still made by hand; the music, characters, story, autistic niche research on japanese mythology only he cares about.
