i was a combat medic attached to a scout/sniper platoon and they do a "spur ride" which is like a rite of passage to induct them into the "order of the spur" and does all these challenges and stuff
anyway, if you complete it you are allowed to wear the stetson with your dress uniform, and i did it
i got out of the army right after so i never actually bought the stetson. oh well
