That was obvious to anyone who just played it though.
It completely butchered not only the writing from the first game, but also core gameplay mechanics. ME2 didn't even have any reason to exist in the trilogy. It doesn't further the overall story arc in any meaningful way. It's just trash some executives pushed out to try to copy the popularity of Gears of War.
