I would hope so for 8 mana, but the tempo loss of having him removed usually ends the game on the spot. In my experience playing with/against him it's rarely correct to actually flip him, and when it is it's because you're already winning that game.
The body, the loot, and threat of activation are amazing, as a 3 drop. He just doesn't really add much raw power to a deck the way something like a Tellah does.
