crazy that they had city state citizenship, and to get naturalized in venice or milan it took like 20 years.
you also until very recently couldn't really just move to a different village or city in the soviet union and china.
blocks like mercosul, eu, eeu are honestly the greatest thing ever. that you can just move to a neighbouring country and just live there. there needs to be more of that
