The only white man I personally know that completed their PhD told me last year "anon you were smarter than me to have dropped out so many decades ago."
This made me so sad, but it was the best professional decision I've made in my life (leaving grad school).
When I left all my grants/scholarships were converted in to loans, so... that sucked =P
