When I used to draw wire i would curse at the fact I had to run Chinese steel. It was so seldom we had to but it likes to fucking snap every 1000 pounds of wire or so so about once an hour. We had to strip out the end of the machine and weld in new wire and the welds on chinese wire didnt like to hold when going through the die.
anything remotely important, by law, has to be smelted in the USA to ensure it doesnt have pots and pans with the handles still attached going into the mix.
