By word "special" I meant "why everyone cares about it, why is it valuable", not that it is "specialized". English is not my native.
>Picrel
>look at my k*neshitology degree!
Ah, amerifat education.
>In the first 2 weeks you'll lose up to 10% of your VO2max
You lose it while doing what? Sitting on your ass? Doing regular fighting training? Regular fighting training and one long running session per week?
>If you think that's what they meant
I wrote it specifically bacause separating sprinting from running is retarded since even distance runners do tempo runs and sprints. You sometimes need both, for example Gabriel Varga does both long distance running and sprints in training week. BUT, long distance running gives you biggest part of aerobic fitness, since sprints are needed mainly to teach your perifery system to utilize oxygen, and you can do same thing with just intense fighting exercises that are specific to sport, but you can't do them for aerobic fitness since no form of fighting can give you same oxygen uptake level compared to XC skiing, cycling, running or rowing. Even shadow boxing and rope jumps suck for that.
>you probably thought HIIT cardio affects you the same as steady state
Yeah, when I wrote steady state is better than sprinting I definitely thought steady state and HIIT are exact same things.
>It's swimming, it's always fucking swimming
Never expected fucking k*neshitologist would say any smart thing LMAO. Swimming is the worst form of cardio. Swimmers that transfer to triathlon always struggle more because of their shit VO2max. Not only oxygen uptake while swimming is lower than in running and cycling, but also you need excellent relaxed technique to train it, which is bad bad thing if it is not your main sport.
