Is there a "fake" ego death associated with psychedelic/drug use?
I know those drugs have done a lot of good for people, but I noticed a tendency in some people to sort of "get lost in the sauce". Like they can tell they something significant has happened to them but it makes them worse people instead of better people. Like they become the equivalent of someone who converts to a religion and instantly starts proselytizing and arguing with people over it and getting angry. They'll tell you how the drug made them realize the world is all connected and existence is all about love while simultaneously letting this realization make them more unloving.
Why does this happen?
