It has heart, that's the most important part.
Yeah it has great animation and a fantastic art style and some crude oddball humor and a lot of cultural references and lots of fan service and cultural significange and this and that, but it'd all mean nothing if the series wasn't crafted with so much love and reverence. There's TONS of series that have crude humor, good animation, and cultural references, or at least crude humor and cultural references, but often times they've got this hostile, hateful attitude about them or a ton of melodrama that makes them feel fake. Not this show

Panty is my favorite girl, but I don't think I could deal with fucking someone who gets ten times more action than I do, and God knows I couldn't tell her no.
And no this doesn't mean I'd rather marry Stocking, because while Panty is a whore who's manner of speaking casually would - to anyone else - be incredibly insulting, Stocking is a genuine, actual bitch. I like both but God are they not wife material.
