I fully admit to my Kalos bias. Despite their problems, XY were unbelievably fun on release thanks to PSS. I will concede to the opinion that it belongs in trash tier.

Because while XY were uninspired and barebones, just asking for an edition to breathe new life into the region, Game Freak did everything in their power to piss me off with ORAS's changes made to the originals. Emerald and Platinum proved that even the weakest launches have potential with enough polish if given a second chance, while USUM showed how hard you could fuck it up. FRLG showed how easy it was to bring a dated region to modern standards and HGSS went above and beyond what was asked for in a remake, while ORAS and BDSP couldn't even deliver what the the previous enhanced editions brought to the table. SnS and SV's DLC did little to nothing to improve the base games, so what we saw when we entered the generation was what we got when we left.
