I gave up on the continuation of the manga a very long time ago, i think when Guts fell into the Earth after the tree/island collapsed and Griffith stole his girl, again.
Even if the guy was Miura's best friend, had discussions about where the manga was going, and the team can do a very good job emulating his style, its just not the same. It's been over for a long time now.
