I actually like Starfield's balance of ground and space. My ship plays a large role but the majority of shit's on foot which makes me feel like more of a cool spaceman while in Privateer/Freelancer/Elite Dongerous* you're a ship 99% of the time and you see a few cutscenes with spaceman
*Elite did add atmospheric flight and first person shooty bits and moon buggies but again, I prefer Starfield's system where the space stuff is the light fluff to enhance the ground part

I don't think I'd rate it that high (Will wait until I've played it longer to really judge) but it's up there for me. Morrowind still wins by a whisker because Morrowind with TR is an obscenely nice world to run around in, but I think I may like Starfield more than Daggerfall/Skyrim/Fallout and Daggerfall's the best comparison when it comes to other Bethesda games
Not counting Fallout 1 and 2 of course. FNV though? Maybe. Maybe. FNV's better in many respects but there isn't anything else that does what Starfield does how Starfield does and I value that more than FNV being better than FO3 and 4. The closest probably IS Elite Dangerous which I've got hundreds of hours in and now I feel like Starfield's just flat out replaced it
