Always a bit bizarre to me how people keep comparing UT/DR to the Mother series, when they have way more Cave Story DNA than anything else.

Seriously, the whole deal with having a regular ending with an unsatisfying conclusion, a true ending with weird requirement to get, which actually tells what the story is about, the main character having their name revealed in said route, hell the fucking Dreemurr's are just mimigas with horns.
There's probably more if I think about it.
