Geese are my favorite. I free range because of that issue you had in your duck house. I got a LSG dog so I rarely have issues, but when a fox or coyote does swing through they scatter and he is lucky to get even 1.

I had a racoon kill a bhrama once and try to run under the coop and I sprayed him with a hose for like 30 minutes before letting him go.

Animals take the path of least resistance. A fox will come back and take everyone of those ducks for later if you didn't clean it up.


I actually went with mostly geese and chicken so I get a dark and light meat. Geese is dark in everything except definition.

My wife raises batam call ducks on the side of our production.
