That's actually what I was going to explain to you. People actually forget most of what they read, and that means they don't need to carefully read things. The only time you should, is if there's not much text.
You can speedread something like this letter and still get the jist of it.

and anything can be read like that. People may think it's stupid, but if a game has a lot of text, I'm reading it like this.
