the conversation kind of reminds me of how puyo puyo fans see arle/satan in the west vs japan. it's incredibly popular over there when it isn't something like arle/schezo while over here people are usually against it when satan's pretty damn old compared to arle or just hate his more lecherous actions in general, never mind the series tends to paint those actions as him being a creepy old man almost nobody likes and calls him out for it. sorry i bring the series up in this general it's just another series that lives rent free in my head though it's an even rarer topic on this site than kirby
