I think you could actually make the case singing matters more in Princession than Symphogear. Cause we know the only thing that allows you to defeat jammerwocks is singing. Even after transforming in episode 2 Ripple wasn't doing any damage to the wockas until she started singing. Another example being Mikan who is proficient at hand to hand combat being effectively useless as no amount of combat prowess helps you fight in this verse.

Meanwhile in Symphogear while they do talk about phonic gain all the time we know that Hibiki specifically did get a major power boost just from conducting some physical training with Genjuurou. Tsubasa being a world class singer and Chris having a talented musical lineage through her parents would make you think they have an edge over Hibiki but that never seems to be the case after the beginning of the show.
