Bokeh are the circular specs of light you get in pictures sometimes (maybe it's not the exact term for it but who cares). I didn't even notice that. Was it ever explained, what that was about?

Yes, but maybe also no? This isn't Symphogear, where you generate power through phonic gain aka singing. The Princesses specifically use singing to generate Musessence, which they use to fight. But other girls also generate Musessence through many more ways than just singing, yet can't channel it into supernatural power. As we don't know what the Flower Knights are - corrupted girls, given power by the White Queen? Automatons? More altered Alicepeans? - we don't know if they CAN generate Musessence themselves.

I know I'm being pedantic. The expectation would be that singing gives the Flower Knights a power up.

I think you could actually make the case singing matters more in Princession than Symphogear. Cause we know the only thing that allows you to defeat jammerwocks is singing. Even after transforming in episode 2 Ripple wasn't doing any damage to the wockas until she started singing. Another example being Mikan who is proficient at hand to hand combat being effectively useless as no amount of combat prowess helps you fight in this verse.

Meanwhile in Symphogear while they do talk about phonic gain all the time we know that Hibiki specifically did get a major power boost just from conducting some physical training with Genjuurou. Tsubasa being a world class singer and Chris having a talented musical lineage through her parents would make you think they have an edge over Hibiki but that never seems to be the case after the beginning of the show.

I'm a little concerned over the glacial pace. The only thing that actually happened to progress anything this episode was learning that Lily was Purity. It's a 50+ episode show so it's not like I don't think things will all be resolved by the end, but between half of every episode's runtime being used on SoL, the Precure stock footage, and the (usually) low budget fight scenes, taking forever to get to plot reveals or things moving ahead is beginning to wear on me.
But we're only just now approaching the halfway point of this cour, so we'll see how it holds up.

On my end it's probably just a case of expectations. After the rough first three episodes, I was pretty okay with the Jammerwock-of-the-week format because it was traditional for the genre, the show was still finding its feet, and Band Snatch carried pretty hard with their interactions with each other and personalities.

30 episodes into the show and past the halfway point, I suppose the lack of the villains being as particularly fun to watch as Band Snatch combined with the pace of important events being too slow for my liking makes it feel like it's dragging its feet more than it should be.

Below is spoilered in case anybody hasn't seen the major spoilers from before the beginning of cour 3, which is probably no one, but anyway.

I recently realized that the main reason, that I haven't been enjoying cour 3 as much as the previous ones, is that they just spoiled Viola and Neige from the get-go. Because of that, I've been judging everything that's been happening with Sumire and Lily not at face value, but from the perspective of them eventually joining the team. While schizo tomboy and iPad kid make for decent villains, I can't see them as heroes, especially not Lily. Sumire pre cour 3 would fit with the good side in general, but in my opinion, she doesn't fit well with our main characters. I really would have preferred to go into the second half of the show without major spoilers...

Ah well I was about a month behind until yesterday. The new villains aren't as good as the boys. On numerous axis but definitely on doing villainous acts. The duet from last episode was really nice, Sincere should just get over herself and let Purity fight.

My current theory is that the White Queen is going to try to mess with the real world and that's going to be what causes the Flower Knights to flip. Probably it will be only one flips first(Sincere) and has to convince her sister(Purity) she's wrong while they both fight meanwhile the traffic light trio fight white queen.
