It's basically a NATO Civil War being fought entirely by PMCs working together to consolidate the new world order. One faction still calls itself "NATO" while the other calls itself "Pax Armada".
Why the soldiers still wear country flag patches on their uniforms is beyond me because as far as I can tell it's not like individual countries actually "support" each side directly. But I guess certain PMCs are mostly nationally-affiliated so that could be why. But like the USA has PMCs on both sides apparently. It's confusing.
