Just playing around with it, I think ECP (not the Redux version) is the best no-brainer mod, but I've been pulling gunfire sounds out of a newer mod called ETON85.

I like the FDF mod a lot. There's also a Vietnam mod (VTE) that has a lot of missions.

I'd like to replace the default BIS units with them so they actually look like 1985 Soviets but actually doing that is very complicated. I'm not playing one of their own revamped default campaigns in their language. I played one of these Russian missions and the entire mission was being a captured American pilot who is driven around to different places, interrogated (in Russian), and then taken out into a field and shot.
