I'm sure I'll regret it heavily when the Warband system collapses randomly one day, but yes, its helpful to be able to deposit my characters gold no matter what server they're on to help others on other servers.
I'm personally just doing the weeklies and dropping each characters 20-30k earnings in there afterwards.

You have to be doing literally nothing to not be able to make gold in TWW, it's more unbelievable how broke people can be in this stage of the game.
