I somehow managed to watch the TV show for the first time a few weeks ago and watched both movies today. I didn't like the movies as much as the TV show but the TV show is like the greatest thing ever made so it's a high bar. Both are still really good though, I think I liked the first more but the 2nd hit more emotionally. Gorgeous direction and visuals in both.

I think there's space for both, I think the TV show has the best balance of surrealism, 2 is a little light and 1 might be a little heavy (speaking of the movies) but I think both work excellently. I was a little lost in the 1st logically but emotionally it made sense which is what matters.
