I can't draw to save my life so I don't really have anything to show the design I have in mind but his suit doesn't really have that many things going on with it. I wasn't thinking of anything extravagant in the design other than it clearly having a homage to both old Samurai armor with an inspiration to the full body suits of those IPs. Something like pic related but with maybe less "going-ons" and only having 2 colors to fit the rest of the cast. Those colors being Orange or Yellow as primary and Dark Blue as secondary to fit the bright colors of the rest of the cast.

Kind of fits with his species don't you think? Beetles typically aren't bad to have around but if they make themselves known and get in your face they become an annoyance. That's one of the themes I was going for. I also think the Sonic franchise in general lacks characters that are against the main heroes but are otherwise good.

Raiden how so? I won't lie and admit that a lot of my ideas for how he would attack and brace himself would be inspired from Raiden's parries in MGR but that's less because I'm basing him off of Raiden and more because Raiden's parry movement is just really well animated and telegraphed. I guess he'd also have the same gimmick of most of his strength and speed coming from his futuristic suit of armor powering him up but that's not exactly based of MGR so much as it's based off of Power Rangers and Super Sentai.

Honestly there's another character that I admittedly based his entire initial concept off of but I think I've made this OC separate enough from that character to justify that it's not a direct rip-off especially since I skipped basing the OC off him directly and took the inspirations that made that character and made a separate one that I think fits inside the Sonic IP.
