I still don't understand why everyone doesn't like the crafting system and economy in XIII. It wasn't conventional for that time and for today, but I liked everything init. Pretty well balanced, money is never enough for everything, thus craft encourages making conscious decisions.
In general, it's fucking great when the economy is balanced in a game. God, how it is a waste when developers spend hundreds and thousands and hundreds of thousands of hours creating complex combat systems, levels, mechanics and everything else above, and then just ruin it all with a miserable economy for children, so that you definitely have enough money to buy everything twice and three times, or with retarded difficulty balance.
The reason I'll die on a hill defending Triangle Strategy and Remake's hard mode is the simple fact that both development teams had someone smart enough to balance the difficulty, and (thus) partly the economy, considering that the economy is actually part of the difficulty balancing.
