Yes, it's still a great game overall. It absolutely was rushed out the door too early though and I do have some critiques (not performance related) but I still enjoyed it as a fan of the first DD. It has a weird hate brigade for some reason but that's basically every game nowadays.
Mystic Spearhand was also extremely fun, definitely one of the highlights for me. I thought the enemy variety was fine actually, there just wasn't many new types that weren't in the first game. The variants were done pretty well like how you'd have to worry about bouncing off rock saurians. My biggest issue was just lack of large-scale dungeons. Even the original DD before BBI had dungeons and dungeon crawling is core part of the "old school RPG" in my mind. It's a natural fit for the series and I wanted them to expand on dungeons more instead of basically just removing them in exchange for a larger open world. BBI wasn't perfect either, I didn't like RNG based loot purifying but again, I wanted them to focus more on expanding and improving the dedicated level-like areas. The open world itself is actually very good in 2, I just would've shrunk it a bit and allocated more resources to dungeons. The unmoored world was a cool concept but completely underdeveloped as well. I don't really care about the "infinite randomly generated" type of dungeons either, what I'm talking about is more like FromSoft style dungeons. They don't necessarily need to be indoors but instead simply designed as actual levels with fixed meaningful chest rewards, enemy placements, and so on.
