I wasn't into it, not religious but open minded, thought the people who talk about magic and occult were goofy. Still do mostly, but then I saw magic after a goddess visited me. Not to toot my own horn but I think being skeptical made me a good candidate for ally.

This is how I see it as a prophet of Aphrodite and if I recall she's agreed with the components. You've got your genetic parasites which are the equivalent of your goblin, possibly cursed by the Olympians. Then humans, which are most people and hugely variable in intellect and honor. Then demigods who have been enhanced by gods, namely to do something. Guess which I am.

It's my opinion that "the gods", at least some, visited various places at various times through history and prehistory. They're not bound by spacetime so it's kind of like The Doctor (Who).
