ignoring the very obvious technical failures of the game they put so much effort into removing any friction from the game that even people who complain about Monster Hunter being too difficult were complaining that it was kind of easy

then of course you have the single worst Low Rank experience I've ever had, just a constant deluge of cutscenes, talking in camps, running to talk to people, walking and talking with people, walking and talking and asking your guild appointed tard wrangler for permission to hunt--and then the hunt takes 4 minutes because the monsters don't hit hard and spend most of the fight flailing on the ground because you've been popping wounds the whole fight

then the endgame grind, especially on release, was abysmal and unfinished (literally) and the updates did little to alleviate it it; artian weapons are atrocious and the system they have for them is stupid

the game has all these systems it advertised as so unique and cool and would differentiate itself from previous titles but they don't actually amount to anything; the alpha system is used like twice in the entire game for story beats and then is entirely dropped; the open world serves no real purpose and nobody actually just goes out and hunts because they just spam SOS like they did in World and Rise

it's pretty telling that all the new monsters they've added (as well as the new 9 star monsters) no only hit so fucking hart it's basically G-Rank lite but the wound system is SEVERELY dialed back to the point where they are a fairly rare occurrence, especially in relation to what they normally are

they don't understand why people enjoy monster hunter anymore and thought they'd just get the same audience as Worlds did because it was Worlds 2; it has so many of the failings of World baked right into it but does nothing to make itself better
