>your character doesn't even look remotely like cro-magnon reconstructions.
She does, but not in the prehistoric way. In addition her facial features resemble the cro-magnon skull on the right too.
>It's no better than one of those shrink-wrapped drawings of a T. rex.
They're not even comparable because a Cro-magnon skull belongs to an ancient human, characterized by a tall, rounded braincase and a near-vertical forehead, while a T. rex skull is that of a massive carnivorous dinosaur, with large openings (fenestrae) to reduce weight, and immense size.
>Yours looks like skin stretched over bone
So her forward-grown facial skeleton, (particularly the maxilla), provides a stable, supportive base for the skin, which prevents premature sagging, wrinkles, and the collapse of facial features that can occur with age. Admit it, she can't stop winning.
>Fairly certain that's because they're extinct and the belief stemmed from a period in time where we thought that things that went extinct were objectively shit at everything
>Fairly certain that's because they're extinct
because the physical differences between them was the reason why the Cro-Magnon ultimately outlasted the neanderthal. Basically neanderthals and other archaic humans were nothing more than subhumans (hence why denisovans looked so ugly) while Cro-magnons were ubermenschen. If all neanderthal and denisovan looking people die out no one would have to suffer inheriting their shitty sexless betabuxing\non cro-magnon genes.
