I mean, Daimonion's 9 Dot example ability is sacrificing yourself to your Demon Lord and bring him to the world and Obtenebration is connected to what is essentially guys who want the whole universe to die. And Obtenebration at higher levels can fuck you up.

But at least, compared to Daimonion, Obtenebration is just that, a link.
