Yuna is a genuinely great character. She embodies the submissive, soft spoken, humble feminine perfection that old societies venerated, but has a resolve of iron.
>daughter of a famous man who saved the world, and has to live up to his ideals and do the same thing
>goes down that path willingly, cheerfully, knowing full well she will die
>does it anyway because its the right thing to do to bring peace to the world
>is a popular figure and religious leader in her own right
>learns her religion lies like crazy
>the only way to stop the evil is basically to consort with it
>defies it, throws off her religion, becomes a heretic and enemy of the state
>chooses her allies based on their ability and who is right, not who is chosen for her
>ends up genuinely saving the world and ridding it of the evil once and for all
Yuna is probably the best final fantasy character. Anyone who calls her boring just doesn't understand her.
X-2 is a different story.
