We absolutely need to resist the creeping privatization and market liberalism that threaten Norway’s social foundation. At a time when international bodies like the IMF pressure Norway to cut disability support or impose austerity, atleast Rødt offers a clear line of resistance. It offers a nationalist framework rooted in nordic socialism that will restore Norway’s sovereignty by reclaiming control over our economy and resources from global capital and international institutions, ensuring decisions about welfare, industry, and social policy are made democratically by Norwegians.

Nordic Socialism envisions a model society rooted in the egalitarian principles of Nordic social democracy such as universal welfare, strong public services, and democratic control of resources — while also emphasizing national sovereignty, cultural continuity, and social cohesion. It rejects both neoliberal globalism and authoritarian nationalism, seeking instead a model where the people have real ownership of their economy, their land, and their future. In this vision, solidarity is not just economic but also cultural: a shared sense of belonging that strengthens the collective good. Nordic Socialism aspires to protect the welfare state from both external market pressures and internal fragmentation, uniting class-based justice with a grounded national identity. Unfortunately a party that promotes these values does not exist. What’s not to like?
