What I meant to say is we already operate like an old married couple so doing the deed and fucking felt like a foregone conclusion, almost like a formality. We lost our mother years ago and have been each other's everything ever since, we deeply deeply love each other even if we don't act all sappy and romantic about it.
Like when she was in the shower after our long ass drive I popped my head in there to ask what we should do about dinner and she told me to get naked already and join her, she could have just as easily told me to piss off and let her enjoy the water in peace; and if she had it wouldn't have bothered me.
Loving someone means you stop pretending to be something you're not in an effort to impress and you just are yourself; and it's okay because she loves you the way you are and you love her the way she is.
