Why does video encoding for intel hardware not work out of the box on Linux?
Why do I need to install intel-media-va-driver-nonfree package because it's not installed by default on Ubuntu and Debian?
Why do I need to modify kernel boot parameters to load GPU firmware to use hardware accelerated video encoding?
Why is none of this done by default?
Why is literally everything in Linux like this? Bad defaults and anti-user design choices. It's like they want nothing to work out of box unless you spend 12 hours reading, installing, and configuring shit.
And the battery power management... Nothing works properly out of the box.
