it's because the things that were once understood as classically cool, especially by men, is 'problematic' now. it all comes back to trying to redefine masculinity and stomping out the so called toxic aspects. that isn't the entire reason things are lame and gay now, but it is the biggest contributor. it's a core tenant of progressive ideology.
