They're not undeserving of criticism, but someone decided to start shilling it around 2022/2023. The shilling consists of both pro- and anti-jeet posts, so it stands to reason that their intent is simply to stir enmity between pajeets and others in general, rather than favoring one side. Of course, once that enmity has been stirred up it takes on a life of its own as all parties are now invested in "fighting" the manufactured battle, regardless of the fundamental artificiality of its origin. There's also a certain category of post which seeks to preempt and undermine the observation of this artificiality by doing so in a deliberately provocative way, e.g.

Proposals as to who started this vary, with common suggestions being Pakistanis, Jews, the Chinese, apolitical shitposters, or leftists
